We acted for a commercial tenant whose landlord had pursued her for thousands of dollars of rent. We examined the lease which revealed the landlord has made spurious illegal outgoings claims against the tenant.
The landlord owned its own management company which was managed the shopping centre and charged excessive, unconscionable and outrageous management fees. We counter-claimed against the landlord and obtained orders in favour of the tenant. We were also successful in having the landlord pay our client’s legal costs.
